getting opensuse 10.2 to work properly with rosegarden
if you've got opensuse 10.2 and have tried to work with rosegarden, you may have noticed that whilst lots of features work well, some of it is just busted. For example, try opening any notation editor window or the metronome config window (WARNING:save your project first!!)

how to fix this
you need to install an updated version of the freetype2 package. Add the following to your installation sources (if using yast then you need to choose "specify a url") http://software.opensuse.org/download/M17N/openSUSE_10.2/ now open whatever package manager you must eventually have got working on this distro and update your freetype2 package. Et voila, the rosegarden now works!

Es gibt ein Bug in openSUSE 10.2: rosegarden funktioniert nicht einwandfrei. Man kann den Noteneditor und das Fenster "Komposition/Studio->Verwalte Metronom nicht benutzen.
Der Fehler resultiert aus dem Zusammenspiel des mitgelieferten Notenzeichensatzes "feta" und der freetype2 Bibliothek. Mehr Information dazu unter rosegarden bug submission und opensuse bug submission
die Lösung
Um dieses Problem zu beseitigen, muss man eine neue RPM-Datei herunterladen und installieren. Das Repo befindet sich hier http://software.opensuse.org/download/M17N/openSUSE_10.2/. Man braucht das neue package "freetype2". Damit funktioniert rosegarden!
